YOU SHOULD CAREFULLY READ THE FOLLOWING END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT BEFORE INSTALLING THIS SOFTWARE PROGRAM. BY INSTALLING, COPYING, OR OTHERWISE USING THE SOFTWARE PROGRAM, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT.

END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT

This software program and any files that are delivered to you by Gala-Net, Inc. (via on-line transmission or otherwise) to install, "patch," update, or otherwise modify the software program, as well as any printed materials and any on-line or electronic documentation (the "Manual"), and any and all copies and derivative works of such software program and materials (collectively, with the "Game Client" defined below, the "Game") are the copyrighted work of Gala-Net, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Gala, Inc., or its contractors, suppliers and licensors (collectively referred to herein as "Licensor"). All use of the Game is governed by the terms of this End User License Agreement ("License Agreement" or "Agreement"). The Game may only be played by obtaining from Licensor access to the Rappelz massively multi-player on-line role-playing game service (the "Service"), which is subject to a separate Terms of Use agreement (the "Terms of Use"). The Game is distributed solely for use by authorized end users according to the terms of the License Agreement. Any use, reproduction or redistribution of the Game not expressly authorized by the terms of the License Agreement is expressly prohibited.

1. Grant of a Limited Use License

The Game installs computer software (hereafter referred to as the "Game Client") onto your hardware to allow you to play the Game through your account with the Service (your "Account"). Licensor hereby grants, and by installing the Game Client you thereby accept, a limited, non-exclusive license and right to install the Game Client for your personal use on one (1) or more computers which you own or which are under your personal control. All use of the Game Client is subject to this License Agreement and to the Terms of Use agreement, which you must accept before you can use your Account to play the Game through access to the Service. Licensor reserves the right to update, modify or change the Terms of Use at any time.

2. Service and Terms of Use

As mentioned above, you must accept the Terms of Use in order to access the Service to play the Game. The Terms of Use agreement governs all aspects of game play. You may view the Terms of Use by visiting the following website:
http://www.gpotato.com/?m=about&a=termsofservice. If you do not agree with the Terms of Use, then you should not register for an Account to play the Game. Once you accept the Terms of Use and register an Account, any purchase made will not be refunded to you if you choose not to continue the Service.

3. Ownership

A. All title, ownership rights and intellectual property rights in and to the Game and all copies thereof (including, but not limited to, any titles, computer code, themes, objects, characters, character names, stories, dialog, catch phrases, locations, concepts, artwork, character inventories, structural or landscape designs, animations, sounds, musical compositions, audio-visual effects, storylines, character likenesses, methods of operation, moral rights, any related documentation, and "applets" incorporated into the Game) are owned or expressly licensed by Licensor. The Game is protected by the copyright laws of the United States, international copyright treaties and conventions, and other laws. All rights are reserved. The Game may contain certain licensed materials, and the licensors of those materials may enforce their rights in the event of any violation of this License Agreement.

4. Responsibilities of End User

A. Subject to the Grant of License hereinabove, you may not, in whole or in part, copy, photocopy, reproduce, translate, reverse engineer, derive source code, modify, disassemble, decompile, or create derivative works based on the Game, or remove any proprietary notices or labels on the Game. Failure to comply with the restrictions and limitations contained in this Section 4 shall result in immediate, automatic termination of the license granted hereunder and may subject you to civil and/or criminal liability. Notwithstanding the foregoing, you may make one (1) copy of the Game Client for archival purposes only.

B. agree that you shall not, under any circumstances,

(i) sell, grant a security interest in or transfer reproductions of the Game to other parties in any way not expressly authorized herein, nor shall you rent, lease or license the Game to others;
(ii) exploit the Game or any of its parts, including, but not limited to, the Game Client, for any commercial purpose, including, but not limited to, use at a cyber caf? computer gaming center or any other location-based site without the express written consent of Gala-Net;
(iii) host, provide or develop matchmaking services for the Game or intercept, emulate or redirect the communication protocols used by Licensor in any way, including, without limitation, through protocol emulation, tunneling, packet sniffing, modifying or adding components to the Game, use of a utility program or any other techniques now known or hereafter developed, for any purpose, including, but not limited to, unauthorized network play over the Internet, network play utilizing commercial or non-commercial gaming networks or as part of content aggregation networks; or
(iv) create or maintain, under any circumstance, any unauthorized connections to the Game or the Service. All connections to the Game and/or the Service, whether created by the Game Client or by other tools and utilities, may only be made through methods and means expressly approved by Licensor. Under no circumstances may you connect, or create tools that allow you or others to connect, to the Game's proprietary interface or interfaces other than those expressly provided by Licensor for public use.

5. Termination

This License Agreement is effective until terminated. You may terminate the License Agreement at any time by (i) removing the Game Client from your hard drive; and (ii) notifying Licensor of your intention to terminate this License Agreement. Licensor may, at its discretion, terminate this License Agreement in the event that you fail to comply with the terms and conditions contained herein, or the terms and conditions contained in the Terms of Use. In such event, you must immediately destroy the Game and remove the Game Client from your hard drive. Upon termination of this Agreement for any reason, all licenses granted herein shall immediately terminate.

6. Export Controls

The Game may not be re-exported, downloaded or otherwise exported into (or to a national or resident of) any country to which the U.S. has embargoed goods, or to anyone on the U.S. Treasury Department's list of Specially Designated Nationals or the U.S. Commerce Department's Table of Denial Orders. By installing the Game, you are agreeing to the foregoing, and you are representing and warranting that you are not located in, under the control of, or a national or resident of any such country or on any such list.

7. Patches and Updates

Licensor may deploy or provide patches, updates and modifications to the Game that must be installed for the user to continue to play the Game. Licensor may update the Game remotely, including, without limitation, the Game Client residing on the user's machine, without knowledge or consent of the user, and you hereby grant to Licensor your consent to deploy and apply such patches, updates and modifications to the Game.

8. Duration of the "On-line" Component of the Game

This Game is an 'on-line' game that must be played over the Internet through the Service, as provided by Licensor. You understand and agree that the Service is provided by Licensor at its discretion and may be terminated or otherwise discontinued by Licensor pursuant to the Terms of Use.

9. Limited Warranty

Licensor expressly disclaims any warranty for the Game and the Game Client. THE GAME AND THE GAME CLIENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF CONDITION, DEFECTS, USE, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR USE, OR NONINFRINGEMENT. The entire risk arising out of use or performance of the Game and Game Client remains with the user. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

10. Limitation of Liability

NEITHER LICENSOR NOR ITS PARENT, SUBSIDIARIES OR AFFILIATES SHALL BE LIABLE IN ANY WAY FOR LOSS OR DAMAGE OF ANY KIND RESULTING FROM THE USE OF THE GAME, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF GOODWILL, WORK STOPPAGE, COMPUTER FAILURE OR MALFUNCTION, OR ANY AND ALL OTHER DAMAGES OR LOSSES. ANY WARRANTY AGAINST INFRINGEMENT THAT MAY BE PROVIDED IN SECTION 2-312(3) OF THE UNIFORM COMMERCIAL CODE AND/OR IN ANY OTHER COMPARABLE STATE STATUTE IS EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMED. FURTHER, LICENSOR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE IN ANY WAY FOR THE LOSS OR DAMAGE TO PLAYER CHARACTERS, ACCOUNTS, STATISTICS OR USER PROFILE INFORMATION STORED BY THE GAME AND/OR THE SERVICE. LICENSOR SHALL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY INTERRUPTIONS OF SERVICE, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ISP DISRUPTIONS, SOFTWARE OR HARDWARE FAILURES OR ANY OTHER EVENT WHICH MAY RESULT IN A LOSS OF DATA OR DISRUPTION OF SERVICE. IN NO EVENT WILL LICENSOR BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, or allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations may not apply to you.

11. Equitable Remedies

You hereby agree that Licensor would be irreparably damaged if the terms of this License Agreement were not specifically enforced, and therefore you agree that Licensor shall be entitled, without bond, other security, or proof of damages, to appropriate equitable remedies with respect to breaches of this License Agreement, in addition to such other remedies as Licensor may otherwise have available to it under applicable laws. In the event any litigation is brought by either party in connection with this License Agreement, the prevailing party in such litigation shall be entitled to recover from the other party all the costs, attorneys' fees and other expenses incurred by such prevailing party in the litigation.

12. Changes to the Agreement

Gala-Net reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to change, modify, add to, supplement or delete any of the terms and conditions of this License Agreement when Gala-Net upgrades the Game Client, effective upon prior notice as follows: Gala-Net will post notification of any such changes to this License Agreement on the GPotato website and will post the revised version of this License Agreement in this location, and may provide such other notice as Gala-Net may elect in its sole discretion, which may include by email, postal mail or pop-up screen. If any future changes to this License Agreement are unacceptable to you or cause you to no longer be in compliance with this License Agreement, you may terminate this License Agreement in accordance with Section 5 herein. Your installation and use of any updated or modifications to the Game or your continued use of the Game following notice of changes to this Agreement as described above will mean you accept any and all such changes. Gala-Net may change, modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Game at any time. Gala-Net may also impose limits on certain features or restrict your access to parts or all of the Game without notice or liability. You have no interest, monetary or otherwise, in any feature or content contained in the Game.

13. Miscellaneous

This License Agreement shall be deemed to have been made and executed in the State of California without regard to conflicts of law provisions, and any dispute arising hereunder shall be resolved in accordance with the law of California. You agree that any claim asserted in any legal proceeding by one of the parties against the other shall be commenced and maintained in any state or federal court located in the State of California, County of Santa Clara, having subject matter jurisdiction with respect to the dispute between the parties. In the event that any provision of this License Agreement shall be held by a court or other tribunal of competent jurisdiction to be unenforceable, such provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible, and the remaining portions of this License Agreement shall remain in full force and effect. This License Agreement constitutes and contains the entire agreement between the parties with respect to the subject matter hereof and supersedes any prior oral or written agreements, provided, however, that this Agreement shall coexist with, and shall not supersede, the Terms of Use. To the extent that the provisions of this Agreement conflict with the provisions of the Terms of Use, the conflicting provisions in the Terms of Use shall govern. I hereby acknowledge that I have read and understand the foregoing License Agreement and agree that the action of installing the Game Client is an acknowledgment of my agreement to be bound by the terms and conditions of the License Agreement contained herein.

PVP Rules

Rappelz Game Rules

Table of Contents

I. Introduction

Player versus Player (PvP) interactions make up a large portion of what Rappelz is about. No matter what server you play on, this will be one of the most gratifying & challenging aspects you will participate in.

II. How PvP Works

Below are the PvP game physics that govern both PvE & PvP servers.

General PK System

  1. To Fight: PK mode must be on to attack players.
  2. Self-Defense: If someone attacks you, you can attack them back even if your PK mode is off.
  3. Red Names: Players who have red names can be attacked by anyone, even when their PK mode is off.
  4. Safe Areas: Town areas prohibit any PKing within them.

Immorality System

  1. IP: Immorality Points accumulate every time you PKon.
  2. Criminal Acts: Killing someone who is PKoff, or more than 10 levels below you, will grant a large amount of IP.
  3. Red Names: Players with red names have a lot of IP.
  4. Repentance: You lose IP by killing monsters your level or higher, by dying, or by donating items to alters that are found in towns.

Normal PvE Server

  1. Death: You do not lose experience or items if PK'd.
  2. Wrath: Gaining more & more IP gives you increasing levels of Wrath, which reduces your defense, attack power, & move speed.

Hardcore PvP Server

  1. Death: You may lose experience & items if PK'd. Having PK mode on, or lots of IP, will increase the chances of these happening.
  2. Criminal Acts: Items will not drop if the PKer is over 10 levels above the victim.
  3. Cash Shop: Items from the 'Premium' tab in the Cash Shop will never drop.
  4. Lak Guard: Your lak is automatically consumed when you're PK'd to reduce exp loss and chance to drop items.
    1. Your experience loss can be reduced by up to 100% and your item drop rate reduced by up to 50%.
    2. Lak consumed is based on your level, IP, & the level difference between you and your killer.
    3. Your killer gains 75% of the Lak.
    4. If you die to a monster, all of the Lak from the Lak Guard disappears.

III. Portal Player Killing

We do not condone the killing of players near dungeon entrances. Even more so, we will not tolerate players who take advantage of these areas to kill others as they warp into, or out of, a dungeon.

  1. Offenders

Don't let accidents happen. Turn PKoff when near a dungeon entrance. We will not excuse players who 'accidentally' killed someone.

  2. Victims

Don't lie. If you were not PK'd while loading at a dungeon entrance, don't try to get the player in trouble by claiming you did. We will know & you could be punished for e-mailing us a false report.

All portals inside Palmir Dungeon are fair game, except for the entrance portal. We will not punish players for PKing others near the 33 other portals.

IV. PvP Harassment

We do not condone the act of constantly PKing someone, or a specific group, without any verifiable & legitimate reason, to the point that they are just about unable to play without being PK'd.

  1. Offender

Taking screen shots of why you've decided to repeatedly PK someone might save you from punishment.

  2. Victim

We will only act in extreme cases. Wasting Cash Shop Items due to a PKer is not extreme.

If you know a PKer is around, you need to try avoiding them. If they continuously hunt you down, no matter where in the world you can go to escape them, you may want to report them.

Security Password

Trying to Reset Your Security Password?

Click here to reset your security password.
Security Password Information

Use of this system is optional. If you do not want to use it, then cancel the initial security password creation screen every time you connect to a server's character selection screen. If you decide to use it, this system requires the user to confirm character deletion as well as add password verification to access the account warehouse.

Upon logging in for the first time a screen will pop up prompting the user to create a security password. The screen will have 3 boxes, the first asking for your current login password, the second and third boxes will be your new security password. Please write down your password as we will be unable to retrieve it for you. We can only reset it.

Character Select Screen with Security Password

Be careful when creating your security password, because if you put in your login password but leave the other two fields blank, you will glitch your account. A glitched account will not be able to access the warehouse, delete any characters, or change the security password.

Once you have created your security password you can change it at any time by going to your character selection screen. At the bottom right hand corner there is a icon labeled "Password Change". Simply click on it and follow the simple instructions to change your password.

In addition once your security password has been activated, every time you access the warehouse it will prompt you to enter the security password.

If for whatever reason you need to have your security password reset please visit http://rappelz.gpotato.com/?m=security&a=resetsecurity and follow the on-screen instructions. You will need to be logged in to your gPotato account and to select the server on which your security password needs to be reset.

An email will be sent to your account's registered email address. Follow the link in the email to verify your email address and your security password will be automatically reset. The security password creation prompt will appear the next time you log into that server.

Any bug reports regarding the security password should be made to rappelzbugs@gala-net.com

Account Safety

1. Never share your ID and password with anyone! Sharing your account information can lead to theft.
If you share your account information and your items/account is stolen then it is your fault and your items will not be reimbursed! Take responsibility for your account.
2. Use a unique ID and password for your account.
The people who are looking to steal your account know that many people use the same ID and password for many sites. Administrators of some forums and websites will take the ID/Password you use on their site and try to use it in-game to steal your items/account.
3. Always scan any file you download with some type of anti-virus and anti-spyware scanner.
The people who try to steal items/accounts try to distribute programs that will record you typing your ID/Password. Most of the time these programs can be found by anti-virus and anti-spyware programs.
4. Never accept files or email attachments from people you do not know.
5. Never use the Remote Assistance feature in Windows.
This will give someone else access to your computer and will compromise the security of your computer and your account.
6. Do not visit gold farming and Rupee selling sites.
Not only is it against our terms of service to use such a site, many of these sites operate by stealing players' accounts.
7. The Gala-Net staff will NEVER ask for your password!
Remember, the security of your account and your PC are your responsibility! The Rappelz Team will only restore items that were lost because of in-game bugs.

Knowledge Base:FAQ

Rappelz FAQ

General Info & Registration

1. Where do I register to play the game?
You can register by going to the following URL: http://register.gpotato.com/?m=register&a=registration
2. Will this game be FREE forever?
Yes. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
3. Where do I download the game?
You are able to download the game client from our Rappelz website at http://rappelz.gpotato.com/?m=downloads.
4. I have an account in Flyff. Do I need to register again to play Rappelz?
No! You don't need to register again, your account in Flyff will work in Rappelz, so you can go right on ahead and download and start playing without filling out any more forms.
5. I didn't get my activation email!
Since you only have three hours from when you create the account to activate it, the account has most likely already been deleted. You should go back to: http://register.gpotato.com/?m=register&a=registration and try again. There are three possible reasons that you might not get the activation email:
  1. Your email provider may be blocking gala-net.com with its spam blocker. [update: This is a CONFIRMED problem with Hotmail]
  2. Your email provider is experiencing delays. This is a common problem with international email.
  3. Earthlink has a special spam filter that forces people sending emails to Earthlink users to go to a website and provide a reason they're sending the email. Our system cannot do this automatically. You will have to allow emails from the @gala-net.com domain in through your control panel.

If you continue to experience these problems, you might want to try setting up an account with a free email provider (such as Yahoo Mail or Hotmail) and try again, and then register your new account to the new email.

By the way, if your account still exists for some reason, my recommendation is to create a new account under a different email. Your account name is not seen by players, (except for on the message boards) so it does not matter what it is.

6. I'm trying to create an account, but my username is invalid.
Your username must be all lowercase, and may only contain letters and numbers.

Game Information

1. How do I obtain a creature for a pet?

There are Merchant NPCs in each town who sell creature cards that can be used to tame pets. Creatures all over the world can drop creature cards as well. Once you have purchased one of these cards and learned the Creature Taming skill, use your Creature Taming spell on a creature of the type shown on the card, then defeat the creature. If your Creature Taming spell is successful then once the creature is defeated it will become your pet.

2. How do I gain new skills?

You can purchase new skills by using Job Points (JP) earned through hunting monsters and completing quests. You can also spend JP to increase your Job Level, which increases your stats and unlocks new skills.

Ursa Cavern

Ursa Dungeon

Dungeon Guide

Ursa Caverns is a newly added dungeon to Rappelz Epic 5 Part 2. It offers an entirely new type of dungeon mechanic that should prove to be a fun and exciting challenge for players of all levels.

At the top of every hour, users of similar levels will enter an instance of Ursa Caverns that is spawned appropriately for their level range. The level range breakdown is listed below:

  • Tier 1: [Level 1 - 34]
  • Tier 2: [Level 35 - 49]
  • Tier 3: [Level 50 - 64]
  • Tier 4: [Level 65 - 79]
  • Tier 5: [Level 80 - 94]
  • Tier 6: [Level 95 - 109]
  • Tier 7: [Level 110 - 124]
  • Tier 8: [Level 125 - 139]
  • Tier 9: [Level 140 - 154]
  • Tier 10: [Level 155 - 170]
  • Tier 11: [Level 170]

Basic Rules:

  • Entrance to the dungeon and waiting room can be attained through Ursa Caverns Manager Dominic who is located near the Lak Trader in any of the major cities.
  • There is a fee of 1,000 rupees to enter the waiting room.
  • Players can meet and form groups 20 minutes before entrance to the dungeon is available. This is done inside the dungeon waiting room.
  • Players who enter the waiting room are automatically disbanded from their party to ensure groups are able to be formed inside without any problems.
  • Entrance to the actual dungeon is inside the waiting room. Users should look for an object called the “Ursa Caverns Alter”. This object allows party leaders to create an instance of the dungeon for their party, or for players without a group to join an existing room.
  • Creation of rooms is only available from 20 minutes prior to the start of the dungeon, up until the top of the hour.
  • At the top of every hour, groups are able to enter the dungeon from the waiting room. The dungeon will be filled with monsters of appropriate level of the group.

The Point System

  • For every monster that is killed in the dungeon, users will earn Points. These points can be spent on new equipment that users can purchase from the Point NPC Cleo. (coming soon)
  • Bears of varying difficulty are worth different amounts of Points. Based on the difficulty of the monster, users can earn 1, 5, 10, or 150 Points upon successfully defeating an appropriate monster.
  • If a user dies while in the dungeon, all of their earned points are lost.

Achievement System

Information about the Achievement System can also be found at the gPotato profile page.

General Questions About the Achievement System

1. What is an Achievement?
Achievements are awards you gain for accomplishing goals in-game. You earn achievements by completing specific objectives within gPotato games. Once you have earned an achievement you can never lose it.
2. What do I get from an Achievement?
When you receive an Achievement it is displayed in your profile page. You also get special points for accomplishing the Achievement. These points are called pChips.
3. Where can I see my Achievements?
You can see your Achievements on the My Achievements page or on your gPotato Profile page.
4. What is a pChip?
pChips are point rewards you get for unlocking Achievements. They can be used in the Achievement Shop to purchase in-game items.
5. What is a gPotato Score?
The gPotato Score is the total number of pChips you have gained.
6. What is a Game Score?
A Game Score is the total number of pChips you have gained in a specific game.
7. Where can I see what Achievements are available?
You can look up available Achievements in the Achievement Archive.
8. What is the Achievement Archive?
The Achievement Archive is your reference to looking up what Achievements are available. The Achievement Archive will list all non-hidden Achievements and let you know what you have to do to unlock them.
9. What is the Achievement Shop?
The Achievement Shop is a web based shop that lets you spend your pChips on in-game items. Some items in the shop have Achievement prerequisites. If an item has a prerequisite then you must have that Achievement unlocked to purchase the item.

Other Questions:

1. Why can't my friends see my Achievement page?
On the Achievement page, click the "Manage Profile" button on the sidebar. Make sure the "Allow others to view and search for this information" checkbox is marked.
2. Is there an easier way to find someone's Achievement page other than using the search tool?
Yes! Clicking on a user's forum name will take you directly to their Profile page.
3. I logged into the Achievement page and my nickname is blank. What happened?
If you have a very old gPotato account, then it's possible that you never selected a nickname. On the Achievement Page, press the "Edit Account Info" option and enter a nickname into the appropriate field. Please note that once you hit Confirm that this will also be your forum ID.
4. When I go to change my forum signature, I just get sent to my profile page. Where do I go to edit it?
This is still being worked on. For now, you can use the old profile editor here.
5. Can I get an Achievement more than once?
You can only receive an Achievement and its corresponding pChips once per account.
6. How is it possible to get all of the Rappelz Achievements? There are more classes than there are character slots! Add more character slots!
Your Achievements are compiled across all of the servers on your entire account. NFlavor would have to add additional character slots and there are no plans for this at the moment.
7. If I delete a character, will I lose the Achievement that it had unlocked?
No. Once the Achievement shows up on your character page, it is there forever.
8. I just completed the second job transfer to Assassin, but my Achievement is not showing up!
Achievements are updated every day early in the morning (Pacific Time). You will have to wait until then to get your Achievement and your pChips. Also, some Achievements require you to have some prerequisite Achievements. In these cases you may have to wait an additional day.
9. Do I need to learn all of the skills of a class in order to unlock the Achievement for that class?
No, for now at least. The Achievement system does not take skills into account.
10. I bought something in the Achievement Shop. How do I retrieve it in-game?
Items purchased in the Achievement Shop are collected in the same way as those which are purchased in our Item Shop. On your inventory page, click the Item Box button on the left side and then select the item and press "Receive".
11. Are the tamed pet cards that you buy from pChips tradeable? Can you put them in your warehouse?
No and No. These are special cards which you cannot trade, nor place in your warehouse. Due to this, be careful as to which character collects it from your Item Box! The pet card is distinguished in-game by the (Achievement) tag in its name.
12. Why can my friend see more items in the Achievement Shop than me?
Some items are hidden until you unlock the prerequisite Achievement.
13. Can there be an Achievement for xyz?
More Achievements will be added in the future. Currently we are limited as to what kinds of things that we can grant Achievements for. We ultimately hope to have all kinds of interesting Achievements for you to unlock!
14. Is there another way to get pChips? I've maxed out on Achievements!
The GMs may give some pChips out to the winners of events and contests. Please do not beg for or demand pChips.

PVP System

How PvP Works

Rappelz is a game of everlasting conflict. One of its unique features is that all players are able to participate in PvP combat. Below, you will find the rule sets for how PvP works in-game.

PK Modes

In Rappelz, players who want to avoid any permanent effects as a result of PvP can do so by turning PK Mode to off.

If a player with PK mode off is killed by another player, they will not lose any experience or items. At the same time, the killing player will gain Immorality Points (see below).

  1. The PK mode can only be toggled while not in a safe area (towns and newbie island). To toggle it, type '/PKON'. You can turn it off by typing '/PKOFF'.
  2. Players who have a lot of immorality points (red name) can be attacked by anyone.
  3. The PK mode must be turned on to attack people in general.
  4. If someone attacks you then you can attack them back even if your PK mode is off, as their name will be red.

Immorality System

  1. You gain a small amount of immorality points every time you turn on PK mode.
  2. If you kill someone who does not have PK mode on then you will gain a large amount of immorality points.
  3. Players with red names have a lot of immorality points. If a player's name is white, they have only a few, or no immorality points.
  4. If you kill someone who is more than 10 levels lower than you, then you gain a lot of immorality points.
  5. As you gain more and more immorality points you get increasing levels of wrath. Wrath reduces your defense, attack power, and movement speed.
  6. You lose immorality points by killing monsters of your level and higher. You also lose immorality points by dying.
  7. A high amount of immorality points will reduce the amount of exp you gain.

PvP Rules

PvP adds a thrilling dynamic to Rappelz that offers players the ability to enforce divine justice or unleash sinister madness. While there are many ways to kill a player, here are some rules to be mindful of.

Warp Zones

Dungeon entrances make it possible for players to be PK'd while still on the loading screen. We do not feel that should be possible. Until proper measures are implemented to prevent this, players need to avoid PvP near those areas at all costs. Depending on the severity of each incident, necessary interference by us will occur.

*Please Note that we cannot enforce this rule inside sieges or near the portals inside Palmir Plateau. We will only respond to Dungeon Entrance portal PKing reports.

PvP Harassment

Sometimes, you might run into the same person over and over again while choosing to PK players. That is fine. But keep in mind that we define harassment as a repetitive act that is done intentionally to ruin the gaming experience of someone, despite all efforts they make to avoid you. So don't hunt people down repeatedly.

If we discover that you hunted someone down multiple times, we will do what we must to spare your victim from further harm.

Hardcore Server Rules

The server Pantera is known as the Hardcore PvP server. The rules listed below only apply to this server.

General PK System

  1. If you die to players you lose experience.
  2. If you die there is a chance that you will drop an item.
  3. When you die, if you have a lot of immorality points then you have an increased chance to drop an item.
  4. If you have PK mode on when you die then there is an increased chance to drop an item and lose experience.
  5. If you have PK mode off when you die then there is a decreased chance to drop items and lose experience.
  6. If you have PK mode off and your killer is over 10 levels above you when you die then you will not drop any items.
  7. You do not gain wrath from getting immorality points.

Lak Guard (Hardcore Server Only)

The Lak Guard system exists to reduce the experience loss and chance of items being dropped when you are killed by another player. Lak that you build up from killing monsters can be used to prevent you from losing EXP and dropping items when PK'd.

  1. The amount of Lak required is based upon your level. The higher your level, the more Lak required.
  2. The more immorality points you have, the more Lak is required.
  3. The level difference between you and your killer affects the amount of Lak required.
  4. If you have enough Lak then your experience loss can be reduced by up to 100% and your item drop rate reduced by up to 50%.
  5. If you die to a monster all of the Lak from the Lak Guard disappears.
  6. If you die to a player then your killer gains 75% of the Lak and the remaining 25% disappears.

Enchanment

About the Enhancement System

The Enhancement System in Rappelz allows a player to augment and improve weapons, equipment, and skill cards.

There are three types of Enhancement Cubes which can be used:
Strike Cubes - Used for Enhancing Weapons.
Defense Cubes - Used for Enhancing Equipment.
Skill Cubes - Used for Enhancing a Skill Card.

In order to Enhance an item, an appropriately ranked cube must be used.

Ex: In order to Enhance a Rank 2 Weapon, a Rank 2 Strike Cube must be used.

Please note that in order to enhance a Skill Card, you must combine two Skill Cards of the same type with the appropriate Skill Cube.

With the added ability of Enhancing your items, also comes the risk of failure. Whenever you attempt to Enhance an item, you risk having that item break if the Enhancement is unsuccessful.

Tip! - Prevent your item from breaking by using a E-Protect Powder at the time of Combination. If used, your item will be preserved if the Enhancement is unsuccessful. You can use E-Repair Powder if you break your item and need to restore it to its previous state.

Opening of Combination Window

You can open the Combination Window by pressing the 'Combination' button from your inventory screen, clicking on Combination from the Controls menu (Alt +T), or by typing '/union'.

Enhancement of Skill Cards

In order to Enhance a Skill Card, you must combine two Skill Cards of the same type with the appropriate Skill Cube.

Ex: In order to create a +3 Skill card, you must combine two +2 Skill cards of the same type, and a Rank 2 Skill Cube.

Enhancement of Item

To Enhance your item, drag the item you want to Enhance into the top slot of the Combination Window. Then put an Equal Rank Cube (Same rank as the item) and an E-Protect Powder (Optional, only used to prevent the item from breaking) into the slots below.

Click on Confirm, the results of your Enhancement attempt will be in the Combination
